The Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award is given to student-athletes who are juniors or above in academic standing with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA. In 2012, women’s soccer player Kristina Roome garnered the honor with a 3.76 cumulative GPA. In addition to this award, Roome also earned accolades as one of four recipients of Menlo College’s Collis Steere award, which is given to the student athletes with the highest cumulative GPA. A native of Sunnyvale, Calif., she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.
