Honor: 2013 NCSA Athleader All-American Team

Menlo College Baseball player, James Jensen, has been named to NCSA Athletic Recruiting’s 2013 Athleader All-American Team. The Athleader All-American Team was chosen based upon nominations received from coaches, Sports Information Directors and Athletic Directors across the nation.

Only eight athletes were selected for the 2012-2013 inaugural year of this award. To be chosen for the All-American Team, athletes have to embody the characteristics of an Athleader; which is defined by not only exceling on the field, but by putting their team first, valuing their education and having a thirst for learning. The “all-in” attitude of these players is made apparent through their all-out work ethic, as well as the legacy leave on the field, campus, and community. These athletes use these factors to lead by example and give back to empower others on their campus and in their community.

Jensen has been the definition of an Athleader during his time at Menlo College.  As an Oak, Jensen has excelled both on and off the field. At Menlo he has a 3.25 ERA and a 0.266 batting average. Besides being a full time college student and athlete, he has also managed a full-times sales job. He is also the team leader in volunteer hours for the community and college.

When nominating Jensen for this award, Coach, Stefan McGovern said, “Jimmy has a tremendous work-ethic, which not only helps him get better, but it reflects on our entire team. If I had 15 Jimmy Jensens on my team, not only would my team be in the World S
