Men’s Soccer’s Giuseppe Frattaroli was announced as a 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® Second Team College Division selection as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Capital One Academic All-America® College Division soccer teams are comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.

One of just 22 student-athletes in the US and Canada to earn a place on the team, Frattaroli was a key part in the Oaks success this season as a starting defender. A finance major with a 3.90 GPA Frattaroli appeared in 15 matches as a member of the stingiest defense in the Cal Pac which allowed just 1.12 goals per game. In addition to his defensive prowess, Frattaroli scored a goal and tallied a pair of assists in his junior season in navy and white.

The Caracas, Venezuela native has been a mainstay on the field for Menlo, appearing in 52 career games with four goals and nine assists. During that three-year span, Menlo men’s soccer has achieved an impressive 35-13-7 record and earned the 2012 regular season Cal Pac North title.

The 11 members of the Capital One Academic All-America® College Division men’s soccer second team have an average GPA of 3.76. Including Frattaroli, a total of just five second team recipients hold GPAs of 3.9 or higher.
