In just her sophomore season on the hardwood for the Lady Oaks, Laurel Donnenwirth proved a force to be reckoned with underneath the basket. The Carmichael, Calif. native appeared in all 30 of Menlo’s games during the 2012-13 season with 28 starts. Seeing nearly 27 minutes of action per game, Donnenwirth averaged 12.3 points per game on a team high .55% shooting percentage and pulled down a team best 9.6 rebound per outing. She was also dominating on the other side of the ball with 198 of her total 287 rebounds coming on the defensive end of the court in addition to blocking 10 shots and tallying 37 steals. This facet of her game was recognized by the conference at season’s end when Donnenwirth was voted the California Pacific Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year. She was also named a first team all-conference performer for her stellar sophomore season that helped lead Menlo to a program best 26-4 overall record.
