Menlo at CSU Stanislaus - Game Stats

TURLOCK, Calif. - For the second time in the opening week of its season Menlo College played a strong 90 minutes only to fall to an NCAA Div. II opponent, this time losing 1-0 at CSU Stanislaus on Sunday evening.

The Oaks are now 0-2 with a loss to San Francisco State earlier in the week. Menlo next plays on Saturday at 4 p.m. against Fresno Pacific as part of its Alumni Day. There will be an Oaks Alumni Game at 12 p.m. followed by a match between the Menlo women and Bethany (KS) at 2 p.m. CSU Stanislaus improved to a perfect 3-0 with the victory Sunday.

It was a competitive match throughout as the teams entered the halftime break scoreless. CSU Stanislaus made its big breakthrough just after halftime when Victor Regaldo scored his fourth goal of the season in the 50th minute to break the deadlock.

The Oaks managed 10 shots, including three on goal, to the Warriors 14 shots and four shots on goal. However, Menlo was left wanting as the final whistle blew.

Pat Conte made three saves in goal for the Oaks while Michael Pessah, Carlos Ramirez and Robert Rix each fired off three shots in the attack. The Oaks committed 14 fouls to CSU Stanislaus' 19 and were shown a pair of yellow cards while the Warriors saw three.
