With their dominant 92-73 victory over Simpson University, the Menlo Oaks win the 2010-11 California Pacific Conference Title. It's only the program's third time as regular season conference champions and first since 2002. The Oaks now head into the Cal Pac conference tournament as the #1 seed, which gives them a first round bye and advances them straight to the semifinals.
Menlo will start their run at the National Tournament in Missouri with the Cal Pac semifinals set to begin this Friday February 25 at Haynes-Prim Pavilion. The Oaks will take on the winner of the Pacific Union Pioneers and the Holy Names Hawks who play this Wednesday in the conference tournament quarterfinals. During the regular season the Oaks went 2-0 against Pacific Union and 1-1 against Holy Names, losing their second contest with the Hawks on a David Scott buzzer-beater.
Haynes-Prim Pavilion will be rocking this Friday night with tip-off slated for 7:30pm.
