Armando San Vincente scored three goals against Bethany College
Men's Soccer - Wed, Sep. 4, 2002
ATHERTON, CA –9/4/02- The Oaks did not fail to impress the home fans, as four different players scored on Menlo’s way to an impressive 8-0 win over the Bruins of Bethany College.

The tone of the game was set less than two minutes into the game, as Armando San Vincente nailed a rocket past much of the defense into the top left hand corner of the net. Luis Vazquez then scored Menlo’s next two goals, both of which came within the span of thirty-two seconds. His first goal was an impressive header off a corner kick. San Vincente then recorded the first three goal performance of the season by picking up two goals to finish off the scoring in the first half.

Much of the offensive punch that the Oaks showed in the first half appeared to have subsided in the second, but Juan Rocha picked up his first two goals of the season, in between a goal that was earned by Nate Lepani off a penalty kick.

Menlo’s Travis Lowe and Justin Rendel split the game in goal, earning the combined shutout. While the Oaks got off an amazing forty-three shots on goal, Bethany mustered just two.

The Oaks (2-0) return to action this Friday when they host the UC Berkeley Club team at 4:30 pm.
