BELMONT, CA – Scoring a career-high 26 points, senior Aaron Gentry led the Menlo men’s basketball team to a 67-65 victory over Notre Dame de Namur in tonight’s non-conference match-up.

With the Argos still clinging to a one point lead in the final seconds, senior guard Brandon Rogers drove right and knocked in the go-ahead lay-up with just 20 seconds left in the contest. Sophomore Chris Cobb added a free-throw bucket to finish with a two-point cushion.

Down 24-32 at halftime, the Oaks shot 59% from the field while going 6-for-10 from 3-point range. For the fourth time this season, Menlo out rebounded their opponent, 27-22.

Along with his 26 points, Gentry contributed seven rebounds with senior Bryon Wesley supplying 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Senior Israel Torres added eleven points and three boards.

This is the second victory for the Oaks against a NCAA Division II school this year. On December 7, Menlo defeated Hawai'i Pacific, 53-51.

The Oaks are back in action this Thursday, January 4 as they resume their conference play against Cal State East Bay. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. at the Physical Education Complex in Hayward, California.
