ATHERTON, CA – Junior Bryon Wesley’s 10th point of the night with 6:48 left in the first half put Menlo ahead for good, as the Oaks held on to earn their seventh victory of the season, defeating Bethany University tonight, 63-52.
Oaks got 14 points from Wesley to hold a three-point lead at the break, 32-29.
Menlo led in scoring in the first and second half for the first time since the 82-63 victory over Golden State Baptist on November 20th by outscoring the Bruins 32-29 and 31-23.
Wesley finished the night with 19 points, five rebounds and six steals. Senior Israel Torres added 18 while leading the Oaks in rebounds with eight. Aaron Gentry contributed eight points and six rebounds.
The Oaks (7-7/3-3 Cal Pac) begin their three-game road trip as they play Holy Names University on Thursday. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
