Head Cross Country Coach Deljeet Taylor

ATHERTON, CA - After serving as an assistant last year, Diljeet Taylor(formerly Mendoza) has taken the head men’s and women’s cross country coaching position at Menlo for the 2007 fall season.

A Cal State Stanislaus graduate, Taylor was a NCAA DII All American in the 800 meter (indoor), the 800 meter (outdoor), and the 1500 meter (outdoor) during the 2002 season. Taylor also set a school record in the 800 meter (indoor). Named Female Athlete of the Year and Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2002, Taylor was also the most dominant runner for the Warriors, earning Most Valuable Runner from 2000-2002. An NCAA DII Academic All American, Taylor served as a team captain for the Warriors for two years.

From 2004-2006 Taylor spent time training with Nike's Farm Team, an Olympic Development Team, which makes their home base at Stanford University.

“I am excited about this upcoming opportunity and we look to improve on last years success,” stated Taylor.
