Sophomore Katherine Fulp-Allen and Senior Laurin Lane-Daniels

SAN MATEO, CA – Menlo College men’s and women’s cross country runners concluded competition at the California Pacific Conference Preview Race. The women’s team earned a third place finish with 82 points while the men’s team accumulated 131 points, achieving a fourth place finish.

Sophomore Katherine Fulp-Allen led the way for the Lady Oaks as she earned a second place finish in a time of 20:12 in the 2.95 mile race, followed right behind by teammate senior Laurin Lane-Daniels who finished in a time of 20:30 to claim third place. Junior Shareese Mulholand was the third Lady Oak runner to finish as she ran to a 19th place finish in a time of 24:23. Junior Ashlee Evans-Smith (26:22), freshman Maria Henriguez (26:29) and Emily Moore (28:48) achieved 24th, 25th, and 26th place finishes respectively. Freshman Jacqie Davis was the final Lady Oak runner to score for her team, finishing in 28th place with a time of 29:27.

Menlo College men’s team was led by sophomore Sean Weeks who posted a time of 33:46 to earn a 18th finish. Junior Robert Davis was the next Oak to cross the finish line as he finished 22nd with a time of 35:23, while teammate Mike Jeffery posted a time of 35:45 for a 24th place finish. Freshman Sabas Cruz followed on Jeffery’s heels for 25th place in a time of 35:52. http://athletics.menlo.edu/bio.php?spcat=13&season=2007&name=Gary%20Nelson">Gary Nelson was the number fifth runner for Menlo, coming in 30th place in a time of 38:34 and senior Scott Perez rounded off the Oaks points with a 34th finish with his time of 45:39.

Holy Names claimed the women’s Cal Pac Preview team title and Cal State East Bay was crowned men’s team champion. William Jessup’s junior Amanda Gillming won the women’s individual title while Abednego Magut of Simpson University notched the men’s title.

Both cross country teams travel to Oakland next Friday to run in the Holy Names Invitational. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
