Vallejo, CA - Menlo competed in its first California Pacific Conference tournament of the season, placing sixth out of seven teams at Hiddenbrooke Golf Course on Thursday.

Each golfer completed two 18-hole rounds, with a team's score consisting of the top four scores from each round.

The Oaks shot a 745 as a team, well off the pace set by Holy Names (590). Cal State-East Bay was second (596), Dominican (615) third, Simpson (620) fourth and William Jessup (658) fifth.

Brandon McCracken led Menlo with a 165, followed by Rich Tamborini (180), Mark Mizoguchi (186) and Cody Grimes (212).

The top individual gofers at the tournament were Cal State-East Bay's Bobby Bucey (143), Simpson's Mitch Card, and Robbie Bendorf (147), Tenzan Hashimoto (147) and Daniel Harrington (148) of Holy Names.
