OAKLAND - Senior Katherine Fulp-Allen led Menlo's runners for the third time in as many races, finishing third at the Holy Names Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Behind Fulp-Allen's strong showing, the Oaks women finished in a fourth-place tie with Pacific Union. CSU-East Bay, Simpson and Holy Names led the pack. On the men's side, it was CSU-East Bay placing first as a team, Holy Names second and Pacific Union third. Menlo's men did not field enough runners to place.
Holy Names' Rebecca D'Silva won the women's race in 21 minutes, one second, and was followed by Simpson's Katie Garringer (21:11) and Fulp-Allen (21:29). Carla O'Connell was the Oaks second finisher, placing 16th while Ashlee Evans-Smith was 18th, Peggy Estevez was 29th and Kristyna McDonnell was 30th.
On the men's side, Aaron Garcia led Menlo in 19th place, Mike Righi was 22nd and Saba Cruz was 27th. Holy Names' Juan Gomez took first place.
The Oaks will wrap up their season with the Cal Pac Championship on Nov. 7, in Redding.
