BELMONT, Calif. - Menlo College matched Notre Dame de Namur point-for-point for 20 minutes before a half-spanning 12-0 Argonauts run was too much for the Oaks to overcome in a 61-52 loss on Tuesday night in Walter Gleason Gym.

In search of its first victory on the young season, Menlo used a Logan Shoffner jumper, consecutive steals turned into layups by Kyle Adams and Julian Harris, a Chris Cobb jumper, and a Brandon Cochran free throw conversion to turn a three-point deficit into a 25-21 lead late in the first half.

Notre Dame ended the half with four free throws to tie the score and started the second half with eight straight points to take control of the game for good. A Kees layup got the Oaks within six points, but the Argonauts built a lead as big as 15 points in the final 10 minutes and never led by fewer than seven points after their half-opening offensive flurry.

Menlo had a season-high three players in double figures with Cobb's 13 points leading the way. Cobb made three 3-pointers for the Oaks while Julian Harris added 12 points, including two 3-pointers, and Craig Haberlein had 11.

Chris Silzer led Notre Dame with 14 points while Dan Bergeron added 11 and Bennie Murray 10. The Argonauts shot 12-for-20 from the field after halftime and were 9-for-13 from the charity stripe.

Menlo, 0-4, hosts Willamette (1-3) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. inside Haynes-Prim Pavilion. Notre Dame de Namur is 2-4.
