FRESNO, Calif. - An early 7 minute, 27 second scoreless stretch proved to be fatal to Menlo College's chances in a 90-62 humbling at the hands of Fresno Pacific on Tuesday night in non-conference play.

After point guard Chris Cobb's 3-pointer tied the score at 5-5 one minute, seven seconds into the game, the Oaks watched the Sunbirds score 19 straight points before Ari Goldman found the basket off a Jason Logan assist at the 11 minute, 26 second mark of the opening half.

Logan followed with a jumper of his own to briefly trim Menlo's deficit to 15 points, but that was close as the Oaks would get. Fresno Pacific led 53-27 at halftime and by as many as 30 points in the second half, though the Oaks nearly matched the Sunbirds point-for-point after halftime.

Fresno Pacific made 19-of-30 field goal attempts in the first half, including 7-of-9 from 3-point range. The Sunbirds shot 57.9 percent from the field for the game and 42.1 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

Goldman, a sophomore transfer, netted a career-high 16 points - including four 3-pointers - to lead Menlo's offense. Logan Shoffner added nine points, Tim Kees eight, and Julian Harris seven for the Oaks.

Eric Hipolito and Kendall Holmes led six Sunbirds in double figures with 14 points apiece. Todd Brown netted 12 points, James Lewis and Jordan Wild each had 11, and Marcus West scored 10.

Menlo is now 3-8 overall and hosts Golden State Baptist on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in its final non-conference game before returning to Cal Pac play. Fresno Pacific is 9-3.
