Northwest Conference Student-Athletes of the Week Press Release
ATHERTON, Calif. - Menlo College junior quarterback Nick Ruhl was named Northwest Conference Football Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday for his efforts in a 28-24 victory over Whittier last weekend.
Ruhl finished with 391 total yards and had a hand in all four of the Oaks touchdowns as Menlo picked up its first victory of the season. The signal caller completed 23-of-40 passes for 361 yards and three touchdowns while adding 30 yards and a score on the ground. His scoring completions were 73 and 35-yard passes to wide receiver James Bassett in the first half and a 14-yard clincher to Kenny Cavness in the fourth quarter. Ruhl ran 20 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter to give Menlo the lead for good.
Menlo is now 1-3 overall heading into NWC play on Saturday versus Linfield (3-0) at 12 p.m. The Oaks fell to the Wildcats 9-0 in McMinnville, Ore., last season.
