ATHERTON, Calif. - Menlo College senior defender Maryn Craig was named California Pacific Conference Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Oaks to a pair of wins and adding some potency to their attack.

Craig, a three-year starter at right back for Menlo, scored twice and had an assist in the Oaks 6-0 victory over Bethany last Friday in addition to her usual stellar play in defense. Entering the match, Craig had scored one goal in her entire Menlo career, but found the back of the net twice in her 60th match as an Oak. She also helped Menlo to a 4-2 victory over Mills that wasn't as close as the final score for its first Cal Pac win of the season early last week.

Menlo is 2-1 in the Cal Pac and 4-6 overall, having won two straight matches. The Oaks play at UC Santa Cruz on Thursday at 3 p.m. before returning to conference action next week.
