ATHERTON, Calif. - There was little Menlo College could do to stop visiting Holy Names at Wunderlich Field on Wednesday afternoon, but the Oaks were able to salvage a late consolation goal in a 9-1 California Pacific Conference loss.
Trailing 6-0 in the second half, Menlo freshman Bernardo Horne took a nice through pass from fellow first-year Oak Enrique Fernandez and toed the ball over the oncoming goalkeeper for a goal. It was a brief moment of joy for Menlo before Holy Names added three more goals late.

Jonathan Tinjaca scored three goals and had an assist to lead the Hawks while Mustafa Celik also netted a hat trick. Milan Patenijevic added two goals, Rasmus Larson scored once and had two assists, and Fredrik Hagberg assisted on a goal.

Menlo is now 3-4 in the Cal Pac and 3-10 overall. Holy Names is 7-0 in conference and 8-2-2 overall. The Oaks play at California Maritime at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
