VALLEJO, Calif. - A tight 1-0 match turned into a blowout thanks to some timely offense by Menlo College in a 5-1 California Pacific Conference victory at California Maritime on Saturday afternoon.
The Oaks improve to 4-4 in the Cal Pac and 4-10 overall with the victory while Cal Maritime is 0-8 in conference and overall. Menlo hosts Bethany at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Wunderlich Field.
 
Riley Thorning scored twice to lead the Oaks while Said Karimzad and Sasa Maksimovic each had a goal and as assist. Sergio Aguayo netted one goal and Enrique Fernandez had one assist. Pat Conte had two saves in the goal for Menlo.
