ATHERTON, Calif. - Menlo College sophomore forward Amanda Torres has been named California Pacific Conference Offensive Player of the Week following a three-goal effort in the Oaks victory last week.
Torres got Menlo on the scoreboard within two minutes against Bethany in a home match last Tuesday. The fleet-footed sophomore helped put the game well out of reach in the second half when she netted two goals in the span of one minute, 14 seconds to complete the scoreline as the Oaks won 4-0.
On the season, Torres is tied for the team lead in goals at seven with junior Jasmine Norouzi. Torres also has a pair of assists.
Menlo is 4-3-1 in the Cal Pac and 6-9-1 overall. The Oaks host William Jessup (6-0-1, 8-3-2) for their Senior Day on Saturday at 1 p.m.
