MARSHALL, Mo. - Senior Katherine Fulp-Allen refused to end her Menlo College career on anything less than high note, adding to her legacy with a second consecutive Women's College Wrestling Association National Championship and Wrestler of the Year award on Saturday at Missouri Valley College.

Fulp-Allen's final match was typical with the four-time All-American out-pointing Missouri Baptist's Amy Whitbeck 2-2, 1-0. In addition to a host of honors won on the mat, Fulp-Allen was again named an Academic All-American along with teammate Rebecca Medeiros. Menlo finished eighth in the final team standings.

Entering her final college tournament knowing it would also be head coach and father Lee Allen's final event in charge of the Oaks, Fulp-Allen certainly didn't disappoint. In her first match at 51 kg, Fulp-Allen defeated Oklahoma City's Logan Rich by technical superiority, 3-1, 7-0. She followed with a straightforward 4-0, 4-0 decision over Cumberlands' Rachel Woodruff. A semifinal victory over Wisconsin's Emily Harper - a pin at 3:16 - set the stage for Fulp-Allen's nail biter in the championship match.

Brittany Caoile also earned All-American status by placing sixth at 95 kg. Caoile, a junior, finished with a 2-3 record, losing in the fifth-place match to Jamestown's Amanda Athon by fall. Freshman Keaton Long just missed out on making the All-American team, placing seventh at 67 kg with a win in her final match over Cumberlands' Megan Agajanian by fall.

Also winning matches for Menlo were Sherylyn Sabado (48 kg) and Jacquelyn Davis (55 kg). In all, eight athletes competed for the Oaks at the WCWA Nationals.

By winning the national title at her weight class, Fulp-Allen earned a spot on the team that will represent the United State during a wrestling tour to Dormogen, Germany. It was also announced over the weekend that Menlo College will host the 2011 WCWA Nationals at a date to be determined.

Fulp-Allen, a member of the U.S. National Team, will compete in the Dave Schultz International this weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo.
