REDDING, Calif. - Menlo College fought back from a 10-run deficit to pull within three, but ultimately lost 15-8 to Corban in its second game at the Simpson Tournament held at Big League Dreams Park on Friday afternoon. Details from the Oaks season opener earlier in the day are not yet available due to technical difficulties at the event.

Menlo trailed 11-1 heading into the fourth inning only to score seven times in the frame to trim Corban's lead to 11-8. The Oaks couldn't stop the Warriors bats, though. Corban scored four more times in the home half of the inning to stretch its lead back to seven runs. The game was called after Menlo batted in the fifth.

Senior catcher Jamie Pauley led the Oaks at the plate, finishing 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Nadia Le'i also had two hits, a double, and an RBI for Menlo. Angela Woerz doubled and drove in a run, Tenea Golson singled with an RBI, and Jessica Cobb, Joedee Lovell, and Adriana Garcia each singled.

Mikayela Viramontes was the losing pitcher for the Oaks while Twyla Baggerly earned the win for the Warriors. Corban finished with 15 runs on 21 hits.

Menlo faces Oregon Tech at 11 a.m. and Biola at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the same event.
