REDDING, Calif. - Jamie Pauley smacked a two-out, walk-off double to plate the tying and winning runs as Menlo College erased a three-run deficit to defeat Oregon Tech 10-9 on the final day of the Simpson Tournament on Saturday at Big League Dreams Park. The Oaks lost their final game at the event to Biola, 8-1.

Menlo trailed Oregon Tech 9-6 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, but started its rally quickly when senior second baseman Alisha Vegas singled to right field and Nadia Le'i earned a walk. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch before moving up again on a one-out Joedee Lovell single that plated Vegas to make it 9-7.

With two outs, Ululani Reyes walked to load the bases for senior Angela Woerz, who smacked a single that scored Le'i and kept the bases juiced. The Owls tried to cool off Pauley's hot bat by going turning to the bullpen, but the senior third baseman roped a double to right field, pushing Lovell and Reyes across to win the game.

Pauley finished the game 3-for-5 with three RBI's while cleanup hitter Courtney Emry was 2-for-4 with a double, triple, and three RBI's. Woerz was 3-for-5 with an RBI, Reyes went 3-for-4, and Vegas had two hits, including a double and an RBI. Mikayela Viramontes earned the victory on the rubber, allowing two runs on five hits in 3 2/3 innings of relief.

The Oaks took a 2-0 lead in their first at bat when Reyes, Woerz, and Pauley each smacked singles in succession. Reyes scored on Pauley's hit before Woerz came home on a passed ball. Menlo doubled its lead in the third with a rally that followed the same pattern. Pauley led off with a single, Emry tripled, and Vegas doubled for a 4-0 advantage through three innings.

Oregon Tech exploded for seven runs in the top of the fourth, but the Oaks stole momentum back with a pair of runs in the home half of the inning. Amanda Vegas reached on an error and Woerz singled to right field, setting the stage for a two-out Emry double that sent both runners racing across home plate to trim the Owls lead to 7-6.

In the nightcap, Menlo had few answers at the plate for Biola pitcher Kristin Larson. The Oaks managed just three hits, though they picked up steam as the game wore on. Menlo had one base hit in each of the final three innings, scoring its lone run in the seventh when Serina Stephens singled and eventually scored without the help of another Oaks base hit.

Pauley and Le'i each singled for Menlo in the contest, which was scoreless through three innings and just a 1-0 game before Biola pushed five runs across to take control in the sixth inning.

Menlo hosts Hope International for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday. The Oaks host a doubleheader versus Academy of Art at 12 p.m. the following day
