ATHERTON, Calif. - Menlo College freshman outfielder Nadia Le'i was named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association NAIA All-West Region Second Team following a stellar debut season on the diamond for the Oaks. Of the 25 student-athletes to earn NAIA All-West Region honors, Le'i was the only freshman to attain the distinction.
Le'i, a Kahuku, Hawaii native, was the only Menlo player selected First Team All-California Pacific Conference after coming alive in conference action. Le'i started all 16 Cal Pac games - and 36 games overall - in right field, leading the Oaks with a .297 batting average in conference play while posting a .486 slugging percentage.
In conference play, Le'i tied for the team lead with 11 hits. She added two doubles, one home run, one triple, and three RBI's. Le'i had a team-best six outfield assists on the season with four coming against conference foes. She totaled 19 hits, 13 walks, 11 runs, six RBI's, and four doubles
The inclusion of Le'i on the NAIA All-West Region team makes this the second consecutive year in which an Oak has received the honor. Following the 2009 season, then-juniors Alisha Vegas and Courtney Emry were selected to the team.
