Oakland, CA:

In preparation for their final game of the 2011 season (Nov. 5 @ Holy Names), the Lady Oaks traveled to Mills College for a non-conference tilt against the Cyclones.  Behind a barrage of scoring and rock solid defense, Menlo marched their way to a 4-0 victory.

The dynamic duo of freshman Steffany Dudley and junior Allison Hammond carried the Oaks through the first half, as both found the back of the net to give Menlo a 2-0 half time advantage.  Dudley continues to lead the team in goals, now with 14, while Hammond earned her eighth of the season, good enough for second on the squad.  Elanna Arceo and Victoria Piazza were credited with the assists.

In the second stanza, the Lady Oaks were able to match their first half output with two more scores to increase their lead to 4-0, the eventual final.  This time it was Menlo seniors Mallory Todd and Adri Martinez who did all the damage, accounting for both scores in what was their second to last game in their Oaks career.  Todd now has three goals on the season while Martinez notched her first of the year.  Arceo tacked on another assist and freshman Elaini Vargas picked up one as well.  Freshman goal keeper Arielle Peraza pitched herself a shutout with five saves between the pipes.

Menlo will try to play the role of spoiler with one tilt remaining in their 2011 season as they travel to Holy Names next Saturday, November 5th.  Game time is scheduled for 3:15pm.
