Men's Soccer - Mon, Dec. 5, 2011

Menlo's unbelievable 2011 season "officially" comes to a close today, as the NAIA announced their list of All-Americans with the Oaks earning two honorable mention spots.

Junior goal keeper Alex Palomarez and senior mid-fielder Sam Zipperstein took home the honors as Menlo made the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in the program's history.

"The coaching staff and program are really happy and proud of the two players," remarked Oaks second year Head Coach Mike Keller.  "They worked hard all year and were outstanding in all of our games.  I'm glad they were recognized on the national level."

Palomarez was previously awarded with the California Pacific Conference Player of the Year Award, as the native of Fremont took home Conference Defensive Player of the Week recognition on five different occasions, as well as earning the NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week award in mid-October.

As far as Zipperstein is concerned, the native of Mountain View had already earned an All-Conference spot as his 11 assists put him in the top 20 in the nation in his final season in Menlo blue.
