ATHERTON, CA –9/29/03- At the Pacific Union Invitational, Shannon Riley finished as the Oaks top runner, while the team placed third overall.
Riley, a sophomore, completed the three-mile race in twenty five and a half minutes, completing the race just twelve seconds ahead of teammate Melissa Gutierrez. Junior Maria Gomez became the third Oaks runner in a row to finish when she completed the grueling run in 25:47. Sara Flulp-Allen placed four spots below those three while teammate Beck Tavera came in with a time of 27:29.
CSU-Monterey Bay took the title as top team, collecting 21 team points, followed by Mills College (52). The Oaks, with seven runners, tallied 92 points, followed by Pacific Union (123) and Holy Names (126).
Menlo College returns to action this Friday when they take part in the CSU-Monterey Bay Invitational at 2:00 pm.
