Men's Wrestling - Fri, Mar. 2, 2012

Des Moines, Iowa:

Session III of the 2012 NAIA Men's Wrestling National Tournament has come to a close and the Oaks have now dropped from a tie for 11th, to a tie for 16th with just two wrestlers still in the hunt.  Junior Angel Garcia and sophomore David Rios were both upended in the quarterfinals as Garcia lost a tough decision, 6-4, to Shorter University's Nathan Galloway, and Rios went down by a major decision of 13-3 against Oklahoma City's Nik Turner.  The dynamic duo can no longer compete for a national title, but if they are able to bounce back with three straight wins, they will find themselves in the third place bout.  Garcia will take on Dakota Wesleyan's Richard Rios in the consolation bracket and Rios will contend with Campbellsville's Nick Waldrop.

The other nine Oak grapplers see their seasons come to a close, including seniors Mike Lopez, Adrian Gonzales, Carlos Soto, and Lenny Romero who have now wrestled for the final time in Menlo blue.
