Olympia, WA:

The Lady Oaks found a way to bounce back following their 2-1 overtime defeat at the hands of Northwest University, coming up with their own one score victory in a grueling 1-0 defensive battle over Evergreen State.  A 72nd minute goal by junior transfer Natalie Ingram was the difference, as the San Jose native has now found the back of the net three times over her first three Menlo career tilts.

Sophomore Victoria Piazza set up the game winner, crossing the ball towards the right post to set up Ingram, who promptly headed it in for the match's lone goal.  With the stunning cross, Piazza picks up her first assist of the year.

The Lady Oaks out shot the Geoducks 11-8, including 6-5 in the shots on goal department.  Menlo's junior goal keeper Whitney Galindo recorded her second shutout of the season, stopping all five attempts that came her way.  The native of nearby San Mateo was aided by a dominant second half Oaks defense, as Galindo was forced to make just one second stanza stop.

On the opposite side of the equation, Evergreen elected to go with a tandem of keepers to try to halt Menlo's attack.  Junior Kaitlin MacKenzie kept the Lady Oaks off the board with four saves in the first 45 minutes, before fellow junior Lauren Davidson let up Ingram's winner late in the second.

With the "W," Menlo jumps up to a 2-1 record with still one more clash remaining in their Washington road trip.  The Oaks will go up against Trinity Lutheran on Monday, September 3rd in a match scheduled to begin at 1:00pm.
