Menlo College senior Erika Savela had two goals and one assist in three matches for the Oaks last week and was selected as the California Pacific Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the dates of September 3rd through 9th.
The Stockholm, Sweden native had four shots, all of which were on goal, two goals and two assists as the Oaks went 2-1 on the week. The Oaks beat NCCAA member Trinity Lutheran College 2-1 in double overtime on Monday in Everett, lost 3-1 to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott on Friday and won 3-0 over Arizona Christian University on Saturday in Scottsdale. As of September 8th, Savela was first in the conference in assists (6), tied for first in game winning goals (1), second in points (12) and shots (17) and tied for sixth in goals (3).
Menlo College has two matches this week. The Oaks will take on Marymount College in Atherton on Friday and on Sunday they will host Southern Oregon University in Atherton. Both matches will be a part of the second annual Menlo Invitational.
