San Bruno, CA:

The Oaks kicked off their 2012-13 campaign in dominating fashion, roping off a pair of blowout dual victories in their first showing of the year.  Menlo took out Modesto Junior College 43-9, before handing it to Skyline College, 48-4.  The Oaks racked up a combined eight total pins in the two duals in what was a collective group effort from start to finish. 

"Everyone looked very impressive out there," the words of Menlo Head Coach Joey Martinez on his team's staggering performance.  "You could tell from the get go that our guys were ready to take care of business.  We also had a number of our younger guys get a chance to compete and they looked very strong and talented." 

Five freshmen and three sophomores toed the mats for the Oaks, none more impressive than Charlie Guittari, Eric Lopez, Samuel Duchene, and Brandon Hoffman.  Guittari and Hoffman registered pins in their first collegiate bouts, while fellow freshman Samuel Duchene picked up a technical fall, and sophomore Eric Lopez went a perfect 2-0 on the day. 

Menlo's lone senior that participated, Angel Garcia, picked up right where he left off last year, pinning Modesto's Erik Garcia in his only match. 

On tap for the Oaks is the Meathead Mover Invitational, Saturday, October 27^th in San Luis Obispo.
