ATHERTON, CA -10/13/03- Karen Linares finished in 21st place leading Menlo College to a fifth place finish at the Mills College Cross Country Invitational.

Linzares finished the 5 km race in 22:53, besting teammate Shannon Riley (23:25) by almost thirty seconds. Junior Maria Gomez and sophomore Lauren Gordon finished in a dead tie for 34th, completing the run in 24:38, while Alexis Baruso came in 37th place in a time of 24:58.

“The Menlo College women really attacked the course, running very aggressively,” commented head coach Tim Dempsey. “The score doesn’t really reflect the effort they put out.”

Menlo College returns to action on Sunday, October 26th when they take part in the CAL PAC Tournament at Mills College in Oakland.
