ASHLAND, Ore. – Menlo College Women's Wrestling was competing in its first two duals of the season on Friday in Ashland as they took on Warner Pacific College and host #10 Southern Oregon. The #8 Oaks were fresh of a 4th place team finish at the competitive OCU Women's Open in Oklahoma on October 21 and picked up right where they left off earning a 32-16 win over Warner Pacific and a 29-18 win over Southern Oregon. Menlo is now a perfect 2-0 on the young season and will head back east again next weekend to take part in the Missouri Valley Open on the 18th-19th.

Warner Pacific was the first test of the day and they passed it with flying colors. Hiba Salem and Autum Pacheco each won via forfeit to give Menlo and early lead. #3 Cady Chessin was up next, wrestling for the first time this season and earned a perfect 10-0 tech fall win over Kaitlyn Funai. Bianca Arizpe was up next and lost via fall to Delilah Houck but the Oaks would run off two straight wins following that with Melanie Cordero and #7 Solin Piearcy winning by decision and tech fall respectively. #8 Marilyn Garcia and Lahi Kanakanui lost their matches but Iman Kazem won by way of fall and Precious Bell picked up a forfeit victory to secure the 32-16 win.

The second match of the day was a tough draw against a top-10 ranked squad in Southern Oregon. #4 Hiba Salem got a chance to wrestle this time and earned a dominant pin victory over Jade Martin in 1:41. Autum Pacheco then picked up her second win of the day by way of forfeit to bring up Chessin. Chessin needed just 41 seconds to dispose of Anastasia Ramirez by way of fall and Bianca Arizpe stepped up next with a decision win to make it four straight for Menlo. After Cordero lost to Alejandra Rodriguez, #7 Solin Piearcy got back to her winning ways with a tech fall of Gladys Palma and Iman Kazem earned a win by pin to round out the night.
