REDMOND, Ore. – Eighth-ranked Menlo College Women's Wrestling hit the road for the first time since its strong showing at the Menlo College Tournament on Jan. 6 when they traveled to Oregon to take part in four duals as part of the Oregon Classic. Things went quite well for the navy and white as they won three out of four duals for a third place overall finish. Menlo defeated Eastern Oregon 50-0, Warner Pacific 34-6 and #11 Southern Oregon 38-20. Their only blemish came at the hands of #4 Simon Fraser, 31-17.

Menlo's 50-0 win over Eastern Oregon got things started and Hiba Salem set the tone with a 16-2 victory. Autumn Pacheco then picked up a perfect 10-0 tech fall victory and Cady Chessin earned a 6-0 decision followed by Bianca Arizpe who won 4-1. Menlo stayed perfect the rest of the way with Melanie Cordero and Dionnica Tolliver each earning tech fall wins 11-0 and 10-0 respectively. From that point forward, Rachel Chinn, Iman Kazem, Precious Bell and Sydnie Thiesen all won via forfeit to wrap up the dual.

Menlo's lone loss of the day came at the hands of a talented Simon Fraser squad that won 31-17. Salem won by forfeit to give Menlo and early lead then Pacheco lost via pin to Ciara McCrae. 116 was a double forfeit that started a string of four consecutive tech fall wins for Simon Fraser through 143 pounds. Iman Kazem played the role of stopped at 155 pounds as she won a 10-0 tech fall over Allison Horne to shift things back in Menlo's favor. Celycia Sandoval earned a forfeit win but the dual ended with Payton Smith downing Sydnie Thiesen 12-0 to make it 31-17.

Menlo got back to its winning ways against Warner Pacific in its third dual of the day, downing the Knights 34-6. Salem and Abigail Aragon each won via forfeit to kick things off. Menlo lost by way of tech fall at 116 but Menlo would get big decision victories out of Bianca Arizpe and Melanie Cordero to swing the tide in the next two bouts. Rachael Chinn won a 10-0 tech fall, as did Precious Bell and Iman Kazem earned a 3-2 decision victory to go along with a Thiesen forfeit win to wrap up the victorious outing.

The fourth dual of the day also went the way of the Oaks as they defeated Southern Oregon 38-20. Salem earned a pin over Jade Martin to kick things off at 109 pounds then the Oaks won the next two thanks to Pacheco and Arizpe. Menlo would go on to win three of the next five matches to finish with a 38-20 advantage.
