ATHERTON, Calif. – Menlo College Head Women's Soccer Coach Robin Hart has announced Jacob Pickard as her first assistant for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Pickard comes to the Oaks from University of San Francisco where he spent two seasons as the team's goalkeepers coach. Prior to his time at USF he was an assistant women's soccer coach at Cañada College for a pair of seasons.

Pickard has been coaching locally in the South Bay, East Bay and Peninsula for the last 16 years. Most recently, Pickard spent seven years coaching in the Mountain View/Los Altos Soccer Club and during that time also worked with their sister club, Sunnyvale Alliance SC, for 2 1/2 years. Most recently he has been an Assistant Scout for the US Soccer Federation's Youth National Program and a Goalkeeper Coach of San Ramon FC's Women's Premier Soccer team.

From 2007-12, Pickard worked as a staff coach with the Cal-North Olympic Development Program. In his final year, he led the '98 boys state team to the final of the ODP Region IV Championships in Arizona.

Prior to joining the Dons, Pickard coached high school soccer for 11 years, with his final position being head coach of the boys varsity team at Menlo-Atherton High School from 2006-2015. In his nine years at Menlo-Atherton, Pickard amassed a 103-53-27 record and received coach of the year honors from the San Jose Mercury News and Palo Alto Daily News.

Pickard has also served as a technical director with the Milpitas Youth Soccer Club and president of the North Valley Youth Soccer League. He was previously the goalkeeping director of the San Carlos United Soccer Club as well as an assistant coach with the women's team at Cañada College in Redwood City. He is currently the girls' varsity head coach at Leland High School in San Jose and a staff coach with the Peninsula Youth Soccer Club.
