ATHERTON, Calif. – The recruiting class for the 2018-19 season continues to grow for head coach Shannon Spataro, announcing recently the addition of one more student-athlete. Aliyah Arcillas has officially signed on as the latest recruit to join the women's basketball program at Menlo College, and will be ready to do so following her senior year of high school.

Arcillas is a local talent from Daly City, and she currently is finishing up her high school studies at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep. She is a 5'3" guard who is known to bring a lot of energy to the floor and she can give an opposing defense fits. Her freshman season, her team went undefeated, thanks in large part to her play on the floor. She elevated her game during her sophomore season, where she averaged an impressive 16 points per game, while adding in two assists and rebounds per game. She earned MVP honors in the Carondelet Tournament that her team played in during the season. Her team made it to the Open Division playoffs, regarded as the most difficult in the CIF, but they got bounced in the opening round.

"Aliyah is a high motor player that never stops working," Coach Spataro mentioned. "She can really shoot the ball and finishes well around the basket.  We are very excited to have Aliyah join our program and look forward to her having a great career as an Oak!"

The 2017-18 Women's Basketball season is officially less than one month away, with the Oaks opening play on November 2 against UC Merced, and then coming home to play inside Haynes-Prim Pavilion on the 4th against Notre Dame De Namur.
