Ayala came off the bench to play key minutes in the Oaks come-from-behind 65-63 overtime victory against UC Santa Cruz last Saturday. With Menlo's front line in foul trouble, the junior transfer was forced into action and responded with six points and four rebounds in 13 minutes, most of which came late in regulation and in overtime.
In overtime, Ayala scored on Menlo's first possession to put the Oaks ahead for the first time since late in the opening half. She later secured a defensive rebound that set up another inside basket of her own to put Menlo in front by four points with less than two minutes to play.
Ayala has played in 13 games for the Oaks, averaging 9.0 minutes, 2.3 points, and 3.0 rebounds per contest.
