George Harding (1981) and partner Eric Shirey won the 1981 California State doubles championships in the sport of tennis. Harding also finished runner-up in the state championship singles match the same year. George was selected team MVP and was an All-League selection. After Menlo College, he went on to compete for Stanford and was a member of the 1983 NCAA Division I National Championship Team. At the professional level, Harding achieved a world ranking of 730 in singles and 650 in doubles.
