John Covarrubias (1984-1987) was an Oaks tight-end and helped Menlo College make the transition from Junior College to an NCAA Division III four-year institution. Covarrubias led the team in receiving his junior and senior years while playing under the direction of Menlo College Hall of Fame Coach Ray Solari. Covarrubias received many accolades at Menlo College including Rookie of the Year in 1984, Most Inspirational in 1986, and MVP in1987.
