Danielle Stines is set to begin her third season as the head coach of the Menlo College softball team in 2010. In her first two seasons in charge of Oaks softball, Stines' teams have finished 29-44 competeing at the NCAA Div. III level in 2008 and in the NAIA in 2009. Last year Menlo had eight players earn All-California Pacific Conference mention in the league's inaugural season of softball. Two Oaks were later named NAIA All-West Region.

Stines came to Menlo with an impressive playing and coaching resume that is sure to help the resurgence of Oaks softball. In 2006, Stines served as head coach at Foothill Community College where two of her players earned All-Conference honors. Prior to that she served one year as interim head coach at CSU-East Bay, racking up a 26-9 record while helping one of her players earn NCAA Division III Independent Player of the Year. From 2003-05, Stines served as the CSUEB's assistant coach with the team accumulating a 79-27-2 overall record. The 2004 team finished a stellar season with a loss in the NCAA West Region playoffs.

After graduating from CSUEB, Stines served one year as an assistant for her alma mater under the direction of Karen Yoder, the current head coach at UC Davis. The Pioneers of CSUEB were the California Pacific Conference Champions after posting an undefeated conference record. The team finished that season as NAIA Regional runner-up. Stines then moved to the East Coast to be an assistant at two NCAA Div. I universities, Elon University (NC) and University of North Carolina-Greensboro.

Stines was a two-time First Team All-West Region selection (NCAA Div. II first year and NAIA the second year) while playing at CSUEB. She currently holds the single-season home run record. Stines was also selected Cal Pac Co-Player of the Year her senior year. Prior to transferring to CSUEB, Stines played for Moorpark Junior College.
